Class 4A Sipsey Valley looking for bounce back year
By WVUA 23 Sports Reporter Drew Pavan
Sipsey Valley’s season is set to get underway on Friday at Gordo high school. The Bears look to bounce back, now in Class 4A and after a 3-7 season in 2021.
With new head coach Joey Milligan, Sipsey Valley is determined to make a playoff run for the first time since 2012.
Milligan said he won’t measure the team’s success by their win-loss record on Fridays.
“We talk about wins off the field,” Milligan said. “Did we have a good day at practice? I ask them, ‘did we get a win today?’ We have had bad practices, but they come back and win the next day.”
Sipsey Valley will play at Gordo High School Aug. 19.
