The Civil Air Patrol is helping rural areas with access to coronavirus testing.

In June, the patrol transported more than 100 test kits from UAB Hospital to Hale County.

This transport supplied the resources for Akron residents to get tested for COVID-19. The Civil Air Patrol also assisted with testing transport on July 28 to Pelham for focused testing in the Hispanic community.

This testing is issued by a partnership with Alabama Wing Civil Air Patrol, Alabama Emergency Management Agency, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and six other organizations. Their mission is to help underserved areas in Alabama and offer testing to those who would not otherwise have the chance.
