CITY HIGH SCHOOLS BEGIN RANDOM DRUG TESTING

The TCSS has officially started random drug testing for the 3 city high schools this school year and officials say the results so far, are a step in the right direction.

Tuscaloosa City Schools is teaming up with the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force and PRIDE of Tuscaloosa to prevent their students from getting involved in drugs. The random testing is for activity students. This includes student drivers and students that participate in athletics or after school activities.
The drug screening company will randomly select students and the next day, will take a drug test.
If a student tests positive, they will have a certain amount of time to re-test…and if the test comes back positive again, that student will be suspended from their activity and must re-test after.
