CHURCHES, SCHOOLS WORK TO KEEP KIDS FED DURING QUARANTINE

With the threat of the coronavirus still prevalent in Alabama, Tuscaloosa area schools have set up places to assure children out of school are still provided a meal during the day.

While organizations are doing their best to make sure every area is covered, they can’t be everywhere. Such is the case in the area near the Hasson Community Center in Northport. Thanks to the impact team from Word of the Community Church, children in this area are being taken care of.

“We’ve worked in this area before, we work with our impact team from our church, and we’ve already been out here, so we were, this is are little community that we’ve chosen to love on,” said Niki Galloway, an impact team member at Word of the Community Church. “When we realized it was not going to be serviced, we decided to come out with some lunches and some water.”

Friday morning, the group will again be at the Hasson Center at 9 a.m. with a food truck. The center is located at 1215 Bridge Avenue in Northport.
