Churches help each other after storms devastate parts of Ralph and Fosters

The Church of the Highlands Serve team was out in the community on Friday, helping families in Ralph and Fosters who were impacted by severe storms earlier this month.

Group members spent their time cutting felled trees and hauling off debris.

As the Church of the Highlands was working to clear debris, another local church stepped up to feed the group. When West Highland Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa found out the Church of the Highlands was helping with relief efforts, they wanted to do their part to say thank you.

So, the West Highland Baptist Church paid for the 20-plus volunteers to to have lunch while taking a break from the cleanup.

“That’s exactly what God would want us to do,” West Highland Deacon Joseph Brunson said. “Look out for our neighbors. We went as far as Mayfield, Kentucky and our most recent trip was Rolling Fork, Mississippi. So, to have something happen right here at home, we wanted to do all we could to help.”

The meals were prepared by Robertson’s BBQ in Ralph.
