In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, there is also a blood shortage. Once local church stepped up to help replenish supplies.

Circle Wood Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa hosted a blood drive on Sunday. The church ensured that the event did not promote spread of the virus by screening everyone before they entered the building. They were then able to give much-needed blood.

“Blood is always needed, but [as]of right now, Stephanie, the young lady thats in charge of Red Cross for this drive, said that they’re 80,000 units below what they normally have at this time of year,” church member Sharon Pate said.

This is an annual event for the church.
