Christmas Comes Alive happening in Gordo this weekend

Christmas Comes Alive

A West Alabama Christmas staple is back up and running at full capacity this year after making several adjustments in 2020 because of COVID-19.

Christmas Comes Alive opens Dec. 2 at Hannah Church in Gordo and runs through Saturday, Dec. 5.

Hannah Church Pastor Byron Fair said the event began more than 30 years ago, and it’s a way to experience the birth of Christ. Volunteers of all ages help bring the event to life.

The event begins at 6 p.m. each night and is scheduled to end at 9, but latecomers are not turned away.

“If you show up at 9, we’re gonna send you on through,” he said.

Admission is free, and the church is located at 190 Hannah Church Circle in Gordo.
