CHILI COOKOFF RAISES MONEY, GIVES PATRONS A TASTE OF TUSCALOOSA
Story by WVUA 23’s Maria Blough.
Colder temperatures make for great chili-eating weather. On Saturday, Tuscaloosa residents will have the chance to do just that.
The Exchange Club of Tuscaloosa will host the 14th annual Great Tuscaloosa Chili Cookoff at the Bryant Conference Center.
More than 30 different types of chili will compete to be the best.
Live music, children’s activities and free ice cream are all included in the fun.
“If you’ve never been to the chili cookoff, you need to come,” said Bev Leigh, one of the cookoff organizers. “It’s $10, and it’s a great way to spend the morning, support local charities– all the money stays here in West Alabama– and have some fun.”
The event starts at 10:30 a.m. and goes until 1:30 p.m. All proceeds help fund the Exchange Club’s work in areas such as child abuse prevention.
