CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH BEGINS IN TUSCALOOSA COUNTY

By WVUA 23 Student Reporter Madison MacLean

Child abuse is often a taboo topic, but it affects children everywhere, including Tuscaloosa County.

Child Abuse Prevention Services works to give children and their parents education and resources in West Alabama.

“It just puts us out there even more and the idea of informing people of what child abuse really is and how it affects other individuals,” says Phyllis Simon of CAPS.

On Monday, the Northport City Council proclaimed the month of April “Child Abuse Prevention Month.”  The Tuscaloosa City Council will give the same proclamation today.
