The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and the Community Foundation of West Alabama have established a relief fund to help local businesses as they wait for funds from the state and federal stimulus to trickle down.

Chamber Chairman Bobby Bragg said they have helped 95 businesses in nine west Alabama counties, giving out $200,000 in grants so far.

“We also call and council those votes on the other options so the things like SBA loans, or the paycheck protection program, or the revolving loan fund from the West Alabama Regional Commission,” Bragg said. “Our goal is to get options to folks to make decisions that work best for them to keep them afloat.”

Small businesses owners that want to apply for grants from the relief fund should visit tuscaloosachamber.com.
