Diversity, equity and inclusion are more important now than ever before, and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama is ensuring the community is fully aware.
The Chamber’s Diverse Business Council hosted its seventh annual Diversity Summit Oct. 14, showcasing diversity efforts in the workplace and strategies that can ensure employees are treated equally.
Business owners and community leaders learned tactics that can keep their workplaces a healthy environment.
Diverse Business Council Chair Member Mildred Black said she hopes those who attended take their knowledge and use it to better West Alabama.
“Today’s event was truly inspirational,” Black said. “We really set a focus and set our hearts and minds on inclusion and how we can elevate inclusion in workplaces and in procurement with diverse businesses. Today was about focusing and agreeing together about what we want to do for our community.”
