The Tuscaloosa County Civic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is happening Thursday, and Dr. Barry Mason with the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama stopped by the WVUA 23 studio Monday to talk about the event.

Every year, exceptional citizens who have made significant, long-term contributions to the overall quality of life in Tuscaloosa County are selected for the award. Previous honorees include Paul W. “Bear” Bryant, Munny Sokol, Snow Hinton and Maude Whatley.

This year’s inductees include Benjamin H. Barnes, Dr. Peter and Ellen Peter Bryce, Bob Monfore Jr., Bob Shaw, Dennish Steverson and Dr. Karen Thompson-Jackson.

The ceremony is happening Thursday at the Tuscaloosa River Market at 2 p.m.
