The Tuscaloosa Career and Technology Academy will celebrate Halloween in a special way Thursday night.

The school’s Fire Science and Public Safety and Hospitality and Tourism programs teamed up to host a TCTA Haunted Firehouse. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross.

“Students have planned this event from start to finish, and they will be working to put on this event with our students Thursday,” said teacher Jami Pearson.

The staff at TCTA encourages students to get involved in school functions, while giving back to the community, and this event offers a bit of fun for students during school hours and benefits an organization in need.

“Really what we’re trying to do is a group effort to get the kids involved,” said TCTA Fire and Public Safety instructor Randy Latner. “We give part of those proceeds that we make from the fundraiser to the American Red Cross, which is near and dear to my heart, being a firefighter.”
