BROOKWOOD HIGH TEACHER ARRESTED OVER RELATIONSHIP WITH STUDENT

TUSCALOOSA – A Brookwood High School teacher is being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student at the school.

Police said it was reported that the relationship between 10th-grade English teacher Katherine Nelson, 29, and a male student under the age of 19 happened during the 2012-13 school year.

On Monday, police said they found probable cause to issue an arrest warrant on Nelson, and she turned herself in at the Tuscaloosa County Jail and has since made bond.

Police said that at this time, the investigation has not uncovered any evidence to indicate that any other students or teachers were involved in the alleged incident.
