UPDATE: SEARCH STILL ON FOR ELDERLY MAN MISSING SINCE TUESDAY

UPDATE Wednesday, 11 a.m.: Authorities are still searching for an elderly man last seen Tuesday afternoon.

Cecil B. McAllister, 97, of Cottondale often goes for long walks in the area near his residence. McAllister is described as being 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt, jeans and a baseball cap around the Highway 216 area. McAllister is in good health for his age.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department, Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue’s Wilderness Rescue Team and Red Mountain Rescue Dogs are combining their efforts in the search.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department is currently searching for a missing elderly man in the area of Hurricane Creek Park on Highway 216.

Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue and the Red Mountain Search dog team aided in the search, that started around 5 p.m. Tuesday. It got called off for the night around midnight due to rain.
