Tennessee Police are reporting that the “active shooter” situation in Chattanooga is over and the suspect is dead.

The U.S. Navy tweeted Thursday that there has been a shooting at a Navy reserve center on Amnicola Highway in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Navy also said it was investigating a shooting at another Navy building in the city.

One officer is “down” in connection with the shooting, but there are no specific reports about the officer’s condition.

Chattanooga State Community College asked people on its main campus to stay inside because of a “confirmed shooting,” the school said on Twitter.

Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga is reportedly “on precautionary lock-down” due to a shooting in the city, but “has not received any shooting victims” a hospital system spokeswoman said.

A witness reportedly stated that she saw a man with “a high-powered rifle” fire multiple shots at a military recruiting center, and that he had been in a silver Mustang. She said she was watching through a window from inside a restaurant.

Photos posted on Twitter by media outlets showed police blocking a road and a large number of patrol cars.
