A toddler killed last week in Tuscaloosa was laid to rest today, but some mourners who came to console each other ended up at each other’s throats.

Kandice Cabbil, 20 months, died from blunt force trauma. Her father, Samuel Cabbil, has been charged with capital murder in her death.

Tuscaloosa Police said they were called to Tuscaloosa Memorial Cemetery just before 1 p.m. today on Old Birmingham Highway for what they called a “citizens’ dispute,” but when they arrived on the scene the brawl was over.

Video given to WVUA 23 by someone who was there shows those who attended the funeral getting into that brawl. As you can see in the video above, several fights broke out at the grave site.

Lt. Teena Richardson said they don’t know exactly how the brawl began, but after one fight started and began getting broken up, several more brawls broke out.

“The officers attempted to make contact with the complainant to see what is going on, but because the crowd had started to disperse and started leaving, officers were unable to make contact with the complainant.”

No one has been arrested, and there’s no word if anyone wound up with any injuries.

Cabbil remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on no bond.
