BODY FOUND IN CANYON LAKE IN COTTONDALE

The mystery of a missing 21 year old man is solved after his body was found in a nearby lake.

Investigators are trying to piece together exactly what killed the young man in Tuscaloosa county. His body was found floating in Canyon Lake early this morning in Cottondale. He was reported missing yesterday although his name has not yet been released. Investigators are working the case as a death investigation at this time.

Local resident Eva Valentyn says, friends and family searched the area in hopes of finding him.
“They thought maybe he might have went to sleep in the woods, and I asked the boys Wednesday I was out there, I said, ‘Did one of y’all shoot a gun?’ And one of them said yes he did. He shot straight up so, he thought it might wake him up if he’s asleep in the woods.” She also sends her thoughts to the family, “I would like to say to his mom and dad, I’m sorry.”
