BLAZE DESTROYS GREEN POND MINI STORAGE BUILDING

A mini storage building wound up destroyed in a blaze Monday morning off Highway 5 in Green Pond.

Firefighters said it was hard to fight the fire because of the locked, large metal doors within the unit, not to mention the stored items filling the units.

Firefighters said they’re not sure what caused the fire, but it took them nearly three hours to extinguish the blaze.

They said the mini storage unit is likely a total loss.
