BIRMINGHAM SCHOOL APOLOGIZES AFTER USING TRUMP SLOGAN AT GAME

Trump The Tigers

Ala. (AP) – A Christian high school in Alabama is apologizing after using Donald Trump’s campaign slogan in a football sign.

Briarwood Christian School students held up a sign reading “Make America great again – Trump the Tigers” during a game against the Fairfield Tigers last week. Images of the sign were repeatedly shared on social media, and some Fairfield fans complained.

Briarwood Christian has issued a statement apologizing for the sign, which football players ran through before the game.

A statement by Briarwood Superintendent Barrett Mosbecker said the sign doesn’t reflect the school’s commitment to biblical principles.

Fairfield City Schools Superintendent Walter Gonsoulin said he has heard from parents who felt the sign was disrespectful and wondered about its intent.
