Birmingham man dies in Shelby County wreck Thursday

A man from Birmingham is dead after a wreck Thursday morning in Shelby County.

The wreck happened around 10 a.m. on Dunnavant Valley Road, about 5 miles north of Chelsea in Shelby County.

Harry L. Reeder III, 75, was fatally injured when the SUV he was driving struck a dump truck. Reeder was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the wreck.
