BIBB COUNTY MAN WANTED IN SLAYING AND KIDNAPPING CAPTURED

A two-day manhunt  for a wanted Bibb County man has come to an end.

Alabama State Troopers and Hale County deputies say 60-year-old John Barry Hubbard was arrested Wednesday night at the Travelers Inn Motel in Union, Alabama near Greenetrack.

He was wanted for abducting his ex- girlfriend, Tammy Carpenter, and killing her sister, 30-year-old Kandi Murphy.

Sheriff Joe Benison with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office told WVUA 23 a concerned citizen’s tip helped investigators find Hubbard at the motel.

Authorities say Carpenter was found with the suspect. She is now safe.

Bibb County District Attorney Michael Jackson says Hubbard faces charges including capital murder and kidnapping.
