Game Of The Week Preview Week 10 Aca At Bibb Co

Last year American Christian Academy beat Bibb County 34-15. This year is different. Bibb County is undefeated.

Entering last year’s game, Bibb County had two losses, while ACA was undefeated with five shutouts. This year, the Patriots again have five shutouts and have only allowed their opponents to score 62 points. The Choctaws have won three games by two points or less, have allowed 105 points scored and will be facing future DI athletes. They are a team that does not quit. They’ve been in tight games and have won, but facing the Patriots is another challenge.

Last week, the Class 4A, No. 2 Patriots crushed Dallas County 65-0 with impressive performances from senior quarterback and Samford commit Lawson Pratt, senior running back Scooter Graham and one of Alabama’s biggest in-state targets junior wide receiver Kamari Lassiter.

Pratt finished 8-of-9 passing for 123 yards and four touchdowns. Graham added 137 rushing yards and four touchdowns and Lassiter had a touchdown.

The Patriots had five different receivers catch a pass during the first half.

Bibb County junior running back Deshun Murrell ran for 284 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-16 win against Marbury. The Choctaws finished with 426 yards of total offense with Murrell leading the team scoring three touchdowns in the first half and two in the second half.

But, the defense Bibb County will face against ACA is different. It’s a defense that is fast, known to break down its opponents and creates turnovers. Against Dallas County, the Patriots only allowed 23 first-half yards and tallied five sacks. In the end, Dallas County finished with just 69 yards.

Bibb County will have the edge over ACA with home-field advantage and playing in tight games, but it will have to contain the Patriots offensive talents. And, that is a tough ask.

American Christian Academy at Bibb County will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday.
