For the second year in a row, Tuscaloosa’s chapter of Bama Carry is hosting a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

The event this year falls on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Airport Park next to the Tuscaloosa Regional Airport.

The event is free, but donations are encouraged. All proceeds to go Tuscaloosa Crime Stoppers. There will be food and fun including a hayride, horse show and BB gun range.

New this year is a softball tournament, with local law enforcement agencies facing off against each other.

BamaCarry President Eddie Fulmer said it’s a great chance to meet and thank the men and women who keep West Alabama safe.

“We encourage our public to come out so they can see (law enforcement officers) are just like us,” he said. “You know when they go to work, they don’t want their families worrying about whether or not they’re going to come back home at night. … When they go to work they should know that the citizens support them.”
