Prayer Vigil

By WVUA 23 News Reporter Gracie Johnson

University of Alabama students in mourning over the sudden loss of 20-year-old Garrett Walker filed into St. Francis Catholic Church Wednesday night to honor his memory with a candlelight vigil and their prayers.

Bama Catholic, which serves UA students, hosted the event, offering any students in need of support an opportunity to come together under God’s umbrella.

Bama Catholic Leadership Board Member George Todd said they hosted the vigil as a way to assist students through such a painful time, and said the group will continue praying for the Walker family.
