B.F. GOODRICH UNION NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUES
There’s still no agreement between Tuscaloosa’s Local 351 and the B.F. Goodrich plant.
Negotiations have been ongoing since June 20.
Goodrich offered what they called their best and final offer Saturday night, but the Local 351 declined. The union and company are now transitioning to a “day by day”negotiation until they reach an agreement.
Some workers’ demands include raising their pay, better health care coverage and keeping health care affordable for retirees.
Local 351 President Brandon Hamner said he hopes there is an agreement made soon.
“We’re going back to the table tomorrow,” he said. “A strike is the last thing that the company wants, but as long as we’re making progress, we’ll continue as long as it takes”.
