The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama’s largest and most anticipated business event of the year was held on Thursday night. The event honored chamber leaders and top volunteers for their work in 2019.

The winner of the Chairman’s Leadership Award was presented to Dr. Cynthia Warrick, President of Stillman College, who was overjoyed in receiving this honor.

“I’m just elated to be here and to be horned by the award they’re presenting to me tonight,” Warrick said.

The 2019 Charles H. Land Member award was presented to Tripp Powell, who serves on the chamber’s board of directors.

Powell said winning this award feels really good because it shows how hard he has been working on these important projects that are needed for Tuscaloosa.

“It just gives me that motivation to keep going because to be able to see these projects through is about the most rewarding thing I can think of,” Powell said.

The chamber awards celebration and annual meeting brought together more than 450 community and business leaders and highlighted the economic development milestones of the prior year.
