Authorities investigating after man dies in shooting Tuesday

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is investigating after a man died in a shooting this afternoon on Sixth Street in Tuscaloosa.

According to VCU, the victim was found dead at the scene. Their preliminary investigation suggests the shooting is accidental.

The victim’s name has not yet been released, but VCU said he is 17.
