ARREST MADE IN MOBILE MARDI GRAS SHOOTING
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) – Police say they’ve arrested a teenager in the slaying of a high school student who was gunned down moments after a Mardi Gras parade in Mobile.
Mobile police say 16-year-old Algernon Grayson is being charged as an adult in the shooting death of 15-year-old Amir Parker.
Parker was shot to death outside a fast-food restaurant just minutes after the last parade rolled through the city on Fat Tuesday.
Police say it’s unclear whether the two knew each other, but an altercation occurred before the shooting.
Court records aren’t yet available to show whether Grayson has a defense lawyer to speak on his behalf.
