TUSCALOOSA – Preventing child abuse starts with spreading awareness and education, and Child Abuse Prevention Services of Tuscaloosa has been doing just that for 39 years.

The organization partners with other agencies to put on events throughout the month of April, which is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Today C.A.P.S. put up blue ribbons and planted pinwheel gardens around town. You can see the displays at Snow Hinton Park, City Hall, Tuscaloosa City and County Schools and other local locations.

Upcoming events include “Wear Blue Day Alabama” on April 8th, so sport the color to show your support. “All About Kids Day” is April 9th at Shelby Park from 9:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. There will be arts and crafts, games, special guests and more.
