RED CROSS OFFERS APP FOR VETERANS, THIER FAMILIES
The American Red Cross is making it easier for members of the military, veterans and their families to access the services offered them thanks to their service.
With the launch of their new Hero Care App, military members have a quicker way of getting help when they need it.
“It would take some of the stress off us, definitely,” said veteran Ladetric Royal. “And also the stress off our family members we have to leave behind the care of our children or leave our spouses behind.”
App users can request emergency financial aid or assistance with emergency travel, which helps families when they need it most.
Services available on the app include:
- Emergency travel or emergency financial aid assistance
- Access information about a service member in case of an emergency
- Access to behavioral health assistance, including free workshops for military children or their spouses
- Locate information on key government resources, such as veterans’ assistance benefits and community health services
the app is available in English and Spanish, and is available to download for free in the Android and Apple app stores, or you can text “GETHEROCARE” to 90999.
