Alabama Department of Transportation is set to resurface an area of U.S. Highway 82 in Tuscaloosa County beginning Aug. 31.

The project will finish in the spring and run from Greenwood Circle to Duncanville Middle School Road, according to a statement released by ALDOT. Highway safety is the objective, which is why workers will not block lanes until after 9AM to lessen the burden on school traffic.

S.T. Bunn Construction Company was given the $5.97 million project that stretches over 5 miles.

ALDOT advises motorists to expect some delays during the project and stresses its mission to provide better safety for the community.
