ALDOT: 2 medians closing in Tuscaloosa over safety concerns
The Alabama Department of Transportation is permanently closing the medians at two locations in Tuscaloosa to help prevent safety issues.
- 15th Street and Seventh Avenue East median crossover, which is the spot along 15th Street that leads between Hardees and the Midtown Village entrance
- Veterans Memorial Parkway and Ninth Avenue East median crossover, which leads to Starbucks
Both areas will close next week.
The inside eastbound and westbound lanes, along with the McFarland Boulevard inside turn lanes between the median closure locations will be temporarily closed during contruction.
Construction begins Sunday, May 8 at 8 p.m. and is expected to last about 10 days, weather permitting.
Expect delays in the area, and use caution in the work zone.
