ALBERTVILLE DOCTOR PLEADS GUILTY TO TRYING TO BRIBE PATIENT FOR SEX

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) – An Alabama doctor has pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from a patient.

Multiple media outlets reported Wednesday that 52-year-old Ervin Wells was given a one-year sentence followed by two years of probation.

Investigators have said Wells offered a female patient money and prescription drugs in exchange for sex. Wells worked in Montgomery and Albertville.

A judge ordered Wells to surrender his medical license while he’s on probation and to have no contact with the victim.

Alabama Board of Medical Examiners records say Wells, of Montgomery, voluntarily surrendered his license to practice in late October.
