ALABAMA’S NEW ATTORNEY GENERAL VISITS UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA

Alabama’s new Attorney General Steve Marshall and law enforcement from all across the state converged on the capstone Feb. 23.

They were here for a high tech training program to help keep citizens safe on and offline.

Through the classes, officers will receive training in the investigation of violent crimes, handling digital evidence and warrants for electronic data.

Cyber Hall houses the joint electronic crimes task force, which, according to the university, is the largest locally operated digital forensic lab in the state. Marshall spoke highly of the facility and partnership.

As Marshall says he’ll “fight for funding programs like this that help law enforcement combat cybercrimes.”

The attorney general’s office holds similar training sessions throughout the state, but this is the first in West Alabama.
