ALABAMA’S KIRA LEWIS JR. NAMED PRESEASON ALL-SEC

A year after Kira Lewis was named an SEC All-Freshman selection leading Alabama in points and assists per game, he was selected as a preseason first-team all-conference honoree; the league announced Monday afternoon.

The decision was made off of votes by the league’s 14 head coaches.

Last season, Lewis led the team in almost every offensive category including scoring (13.5 ppg), assists (2.9 apg), field goals made (157) and attempted (363) and free throw percentage (.783).

During the Crimson Tide’s preseason game against Georgia Tech, Lewis had 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in route to a 93-65 win.

Lewis was also named to the Preseason All-SEC Second Team voted on by a panel of SEC and national media members.

Alabama opens its season tomorrow against Penn in Coleman Coliseum. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
