ALABAMA WOMENS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL PRACTICE REPORT

Basketball

The Alabama women’s wheelchair basketball team closed out its week with an active practice.

The Crimson Tide returned several key players to its roster this season, including Arinn Young, Rosie Lalonde, Babsi Gross and Kate Lang. Alabama also added freshman Catha Weiss.

Head coach Ryan Hynes noted that Avery Downing would not be playing basketball this year. She will focus her talents on tennis.

During practice, the team ran half-court offensive and defensive drills and moved into full-court drills. Several players touched the ball well and there was a lot of talking on the court with younger players.

Both Young and Lang looked good. Passing, dribbling and shooting. With the season not beginning until Nov. 1 with the Press Ganey Tipoff, Young and Lang seemed to take on the leadership role.

When the practice concluded, Georgia Inglis stayed on the court and finished with taking shots.

Babsi Gross and Sarah Maynard did not participate in team drills.
