ALABAMA TROOPERS: 22 KILLED IN WRECKS OVER HOLIDAY PERIOD
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says 22 people lost their lives in traffic accidents during the holiday travel period.
The agency released the figures in a news release.
The deaths occurred on state roadways between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1. Among those killed was a 4-year-old who died in an Etowah County crash.
At least 14 deaths occurred in accidents where the victims were not using seat belts. Troopers investigated 21 traffic deaths in the 2018-2019 holiday travel season.
