ALABAMA STUDENTS ‘MARCH FOR OUR LIVES’ IN D.C.

By WVUA 23 Web Writer Ryan Liedel

Thousands of students, teachers and supporters flooded the nation’s capital Saturday for the March four our Lives Rally, organized to drive reform of our nation’s gun laws.

Two University of Alabama students who graduated from Majory Stoneman Douglas High School were among those who marched.

Nicole Serwinowski and Lindsey Wite described their experience in D.C. as “powerful” after the shooting. Neither were able to go home to be with their families, so Nicole organized a candle-light vigil for the victims and started a GoFundMe an for their travel to D.C..

While there they joined their former high school and thousands of others to protest gun violence. Both called the experience something they will “never forget.”
