University of Alabama student and WVUA 23 student intern Taylor Neuman was in the midst of the Paris attacks. She’s currently studying abroad in Barcelona, but traveled with her study abroad group to Paris for the weekend. They arrived in Paris the day of the attacks. WUVA 23 spoke with her Friday night and then again on Saturday.
One day after the tragedy, she describes the scene in Paris as scary, as military personnel patrolled the city. Friday, the president of France declared a state of emergency and closed the French borders. Taylor told WVUA 23 that her study group is scheduled to go back to Barcelona Sunday. She also said she’s very grateful her group is safe and they are very eager to get back to Barcelona. We wish them safe travels.
