ALABAMA STUDENT STARTS UP SHOPPING SERVICE FOR SENIORS

A University of Alabama junior is being hailed a hero here at home and in the national spotlight.

Michael Arundel created a shopping service for seniors after he went home to Chicago for spring break.

Seniors are more susceptible to complications from COVID-19, and are encouraged to stay home and avoid contact with others. That means no shopping trips.

But seniors who need groceries or necessities can use Arundel’s Leave it to Us service and have items picked up and delivered by Michael or one of his friends for just the cost of the groceries.

“We hope to get reimbursed for the groceries upon delivery,” Arundel said. “That’s the only cost involved. Again, there are no delivery fees or anything. We are just trying to help out our senior population, hopefully curve this virus and flatten the curve for our population.

The Leave it to Us campaign starts today.
