Alabama softball opened up its SEC schedule against Arkansas in a three-game home series this past weekend.

After a somewhat rocky start to the year, the Crimson Tide was 12-7 coming into this series against the Razorbacks and were looking to start SEC play on the right foot.

That didn’t happen, with Alabama losing its first game to Arkansas 1-0.

But Alabama bounced back in the second game of the series with a 10-2 victory that was finished after six innings. Lexi Kilfoyl was on the mound for the second game of the series and would finish with six strikeouts and only two earned runs to get the win. The bats were hot for the Tide as well. Jenna Johnson finished the day 2-3 with 2 RBIs and a home run. As a team, Alabama batted 12-28 (.428) with seven RBIs and 10 runs scored.

Alabama was victorious with a 9-1 win over the Razorbacks in the third game of the series, clinching the matchup and winning its first SEC series this season. The Tide were led by Lexi Kilfoyl on the mound again who would only allow one earned run to get another win to push her pitching record to 6-4 on the season.

The Crimson Tide was led by the top of their batting order (Skylar Wallace, Alexis Mack, KB Sides) who dominated with a .593 BA, nine runs, and six RBIs for the weekend.

Alabama will host the T-Town Showdown Tournament this coming weekend, which will include BYU, Bryant University, and the University of Texas.
