ALABAMA SOFTBALL TRAVELS TO TUCSON FOR HILLENBRAND INVINTATIONAL
After a 5-0 start at the Trojan Classic hosted at Troy University, The Alabama softball team has moved up in the national rankings. The Crimson Tide is now ranked No. 7 in this week’s USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 8 in ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
Alabama will travel to Tucson for the Hillenbrand Invitational, hosted at the University of Arizona. Starting Friday, the Crimson Tide will play five games over three days.
“Anytime you play a PAC-12 team; it’s a bonus, win-lose,” head coach Patrick Murphy said. “South Florida has been in regionals every year for probably 15 years. Illinois Chicago is a team not many know about but they will win their league almost every other year. It’ll just be good competition all the way around.”
First pitch is slated for Friday at 12:15 p.m.
