Alabama softball opens postseason play this week at the 2022 SEC Softball Tournament in Gainesville, Florida.

The Crimson Tide has received the No.2 seed and a first round bye. Bama will play their first game Thursday at 1:30 p.m. on SEC network.

Coach Patrick Murphy talked about what his team goal for this team going in is.

“The goal for us is to play well,” Murphy said. “No matter how many games we play, just play well.”

The Tide will play the winner of Wednesday’s game between Missouri and Auburn. Alabama was able to finish the regular season with a 41-10 record overall and a 16-8 record in conference play.

After taking two out of three games last weekend against Missouri. Alabama has won six out of its eight SEC series this season including winning all four SEC series in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama’s Montana Fouts spoke on what it’ll take for the team to succeed in the tournament.

“I think the only way to prepare, is really practice our hardest,” Fouts said. “Make practice really hard because they’re both great teams, their both gonna give us a fight.”
