The Alabama men’s baseball team took a small step forward this past weekend, the Tide heading to its third straight to start conference play.

Remember, this team was swept at home to open SEC play, but last week, Bama picked up a win on the road against a ranked South Carolina team.

Bama picked up a comfortable win over Arkansas on Saturday, and had a chance again to win the series on Sunday, but couldn’t match the Hog’s offense, losing 8-5.

This week, Bama has a home and home against Troy before heading on the road to take on Ole Miss on Friday.

“I think we’re continuing to improve each week,” said head coach Greg Goff. “You know, I thought the last two weekends, a pitch here or there we win the series.”

Instead of living in the past, however, Goff looks forward to the team’s future.

“I think if we go through this first year, I think our players start to get more used to the things that we’re doing and what we’re asking, and I think we’re all just beginning to come together a lot more so I’m excited to have a chance to play these two midweek games then go to Oxford and have a chance to play a really good Ole Miss team,” Goff said.
