ALABAMA POWER ASSISTS HURRICANE FLORENCE VICTIMS

After Hurricane Florence pounded the East Coast over the weekend, residents throughout the Carolinas hope they can start cleaning up and rebuilding soon.

Thousands are still without power, even days after the storm passed through. Alabama Power also sent crews to assist in the days following the hurricane.

“Last week, we sent about 1,200 people which comprised of line crews, tree cutting experts and support personal to be on stand by in the event that they were needed in any kind of storm restoration,” said Anna Catherine Roberson, Alabama Power’s public information representative.

Most of the crews are back home now, but Alabama Power elected to leave some key employees there, such as contractors and vegetation management, to help with the damage and aftermath.
