HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) – A Huntsville police officer is charged with capital murder and jailed without bond in the off-duty killing of a person who was slain in a vehicle.
Records show 28-year-old Officer David McCoy was booked into the Madison County Jail late Friday. A statement by the Huntsville Police Department said he was placed on administrative leave.
The department didn’t release any information about the cause of death or identify the victim.
But news outlets reported that McCoy was accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend Courtney Spraggins, who was found shot to death in a car.
