Alabama now atop 2021 football recruiting rankings

The University of Alabama Alabama football team recently jumped Ohio State for the top spot in 247Sports.com’s 2021 recruiting rankings.
Nick Saban and staff have 19 commitments, leaving room for more talent to join the Tide, according to 247Sports. Recent commitments from a trio of four-star prospects, cornerback Khyree Jackson, defensive end Monkell Goodwine, and quarterback Jalen Milroe, gave Alabama enough to grab the top spot.
Alabama added 10 commitments since May, four of which rank as five-star prospects by 247Sports. Only Ohio State has as many five-star prospects.
Two of the four five-star prospects and five of Alabama’s 19 commitments are from Florida, according to 247Sports.
Saban and staff invaded Florida this summer and show no signs of relinquishing their grip, which is imperative because the state is arguably the ripest recruiting ground in the country.
Their other commits are scattered across the country, with Alabama and Texas being two other big states in Tide’s 2021 class.
Work remains to be done to finish this cycle as the best class, as they must fend off other powers like Ohio State, Clemson, LSU and Georgia.
If they can do that, look for this to be one of Saban’s best recruiting classes.
