ALABAMA MEN’S BASKETBALL SET TO FACE GEORGIA TECH IN CHARITY EXHIBITION GAME

The Alabama men’s basketball team will host Georgia Tech on Sunday, Oct. 27 at noon CT for a charity exhibition game that will help benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund.

It is the first time Alabama has ever participated in an exhibition game for charity. According to NCAA rules, an institution may use one of its possible two exhibition games against a Division I institution to raise funds for a catastrophic event.

The two teams will play a regulation 40-minute game. However, there will be no television or radio broadcast for the Alabama-Georgia Tech contest.

The game will be the first of a doubleheader at Coleman Coliseum. Following the men’s game, the Alabama women’s team will play its exhibition contest against Auburn-Montgomery at 2:30 p.m.

Both Crimson Tide teams will make their first public appearances Friday, Oct. 18, at the fifth annual UA Supe Store Tide Tipoff event. Doors open at 6 p.m. for autographs and the on-court event begins at 7 p.m.
