Alabama lands safety Elliot Washington II, first 2023 class commitment

Alabama football landed its first verbal commitment in the 2023 recruit class on Monday. Four-star safety out of Venice, Fla., Elliot Washington II has announced he will be coming to Tuscaloosa, via Twitter.
Washington is listed at 6’1, 188 pounds, and is rated as the No.194 overall player and the No.18 safety in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports Composite. Washington chose Alabama over schools such as Georgia, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State.
As a junior last season, Washington played a pivotal role in leading his team to the state championship. He finished his junior season with 58 tackles, four pass break-ups and four interceptions.
Washington is the son of former Tide basketball player Elliot Washington Sr., Washington Sr. played for the Crimson Tide from 1991-1993 under head coach Wimp Sanderson.
